Password protection is also available in order to secure your financial data. Drawbacks / flaws: The program caused some faults when trying to generate account balance line charts and when trying to save a manually entered exchange rate. The limitations make it look rather like a demo. In conclusion: If it wasn't for the instability, this application would have been great for managing your finance.

Input Directory is an extremely simple remote control tool. It allows you to control multiple systems using one keyboard and one mouse. To be honest, I was expecting a program which would allow you to control a remote computer using your own monitor. Well, this program is different. It allows you to control multiple workstations as long as their monitors are in your visual field, for you need to look at the remote computer's monitor. This means that you can use this program to control only computers which are in the same room. At first, I was dazed a little bit about this program, but after some practice I found out that it's really nice to use. If you are in an busy working environment and you need to use two or more different workstations which are close to you, all you need to move the mouse towards the side of the screen closest to that workstation and the cursor will disappear from your screen and re-appear on the slave workstation's screen. Of course, you can select a hot-key combination in order to do that. You can select several computers to act as Master computers, and you can set a computer to be either Master or Slave. Installing and configuring the program may seem a bit complicated, so I advise you to carefully read the 'QuickStart' guide. Using the program is a walk in the park. Pluses: You can also share the clipboard (on shared partitions or folders), which means that you can quickly copy data from a workstation to another. Drawbacks / flaws: In order to establish a connection with a slave computer, you need to enter it's name; entering the IP address won't work. In conclusion: A limited, yet simple and handy solution for remote control as oposed to the payed remote control programs. I believe that it will get even better with the next releases.

This program is a free utility which allows you to measure any part of your desktop. You can use it to measure a window, a part of your desktop, or any other area of your screen. The only measurement unit that's supported is the pixel. When starting the program, a re-sizable brown ruler appears. You can move the ruler on the screen wherever you like. It's also possible to resize the ruler, making it either longer or shorter. There are a couple of small buttons on the corners of the ruler, which allow you to use the magnifier feature or to make it semi-transparent. The magnifier works by capturing a screenshot of your desktop. This screenshot is magnified, allowing you to measure any part of it. Another nice feature is the distance selector. You can click the tics which appear on a side of the ruler, in order to view the distance between the place where it begins and that point. Pluses: A Ruler supports changing its orientation. With the help of this small program you can schedule a computer restart, shut down, set to hibernate, etc. You can also use this program to start a certain application or visit an URL when the system uptime reaches a certain number of days, hours and minutes. Personally, I like the idea of turning off or setting the system to hibernate after a certain period of up-time. Especially, when I am at work and I am updating or copying files and these processes take a longer while, I can set my computer to shut down and leave the office. Pluses: Drawbacks / flaws: I would have liked an option where I can set the computer to turn off or hibernate at a certain date and time. In conclusion: A very good software and it's also free.

You can choose an atomic clock from a list of time servers and set the program to repeat the action at every system startup. As for using the problem, it's very simple. Although the graphical user interface is not extremely joyous, it is very effective, as the program offers lots of features. You can set the time for your computer to shut down, log off, hibernate, etc. You can disable wake events or force applications to quit before executing a selected task. There are two options I found very interesting. First, you can set your computer to shut down in case a file disappears on your local or a remote machine. Then, you can set the computer to power off or whatever in case your CPU usage stays below a limit of your choice for a selected period of time. The program features also a panel for fast access to different operations: shut down, restart, lock workstations, screensaver, etc. here you can also choose to eject or close your optical media drive tray, empty your Recycle Bin, turn on and off your monitor, clear Temporary Internet Files, etc. Pretty nice. Pluses: Many useful features besides scheduled computer shut down or restart operations. Drawbacks / flaws: In conclusion: Although the interface isn't outstanding, I found the program excellent due to its numerous functionalities.

This is a very simple program which maybe does a not so simple thing. It helps you add many effects to your photos. The truth is that you are not in control of anything in this program. You can use the available effects without the possibility of any kind of customization. If the main part of a photo is not located exactly on its center you can't do many things if you want to use an effect which covers the margins. You have to choose another photo to use. This is a feature that needs improvements in the next release, in my opinion. While testing the program, I discovered that it is really easy to use and the effects are very interesting. The idea of the interface is very interesting with the effects and filters on the right side, the current image in the upper right side of the window and the previews of that image with the filters from the selected category applied to it. Unfortunately there's no reset button and the undo button works only for the last applied filter. Pluses: Easy to use and nice interesting idea for the user interface. Drawbacks / flaws: Poor usability. You have to use everything as it is provided by the producer. For what it has to offer I believe that the price is a little too high.
